Moving some business up due to travel safety concerns
Responding to the frigid Iowa cold weather, Greene County Democrats have decided to have a coffee before their Iowa Caucus Monday, Jan. 15.
“We’re inviting Democrats to stop by Jefferson city hall beginning at 4 pm,” Greene County Democratic Central Committee chair John Brunow said.
“Iowans are a hearty group, but also sensible,” Brunow continued. “Traveling after dark in this subzero weather can present risks. We need people to sign up for their presidential preference card, sign nomination papers for candidates, and submit ideas for platform planks and these are steps that can be taken before the mandated 7 pm caucus start. So, we plan to put out the word to come to the Jefferson city hall between 4 and 7 pm to achieve these important steps. You can be home before dark. You will have taken important steps in our democracy.”
Brunow concluded, “An important key to maintaining our democracy is participation. Your voice needs to be heard. We invite you to come to city hall starting at 4 pm to have a cup of coffee and express your convictions about how this nation should go forward.”
